  • Who will book the plane tickets?

Travelling arrangements are yours to make. If you need document or information, don’t hesitate to contact us though.

  • What happens when I arrive at the airport?

Someone will greet you, either your host family, either someone from Eazycork, either someone from Celtic Internships. It will be written in the welcoming pack you’ll receive a few days before arriving.

  • I am late/delayed, what should I do?

First, try to contact us. If you manage to join us, we will take care of what happens next.

If you can’t contact us, try to contact our accommodation partner or your Host Family. Then, as soon as you can, contact us.

Accommodation

  • What about your accommodations?

We arrange Host families, Flat sharing and Bed & Breakfast according to what you want.

  • Host families includes the comfort of home, meals cooked and laundry. Host families are all in the suburbs of Cork but you are never far from the centre of the city.
  • Flat sharing come with greater liberties, but you’ll have to take care of everything yourself. Kitchen and laundry machines are present in all the flats.

  • I have a problem concerning my accommodation. Who should I contact?

Normally, you can contact our accommodation partners directly for the small problems. If your situation is not fixed soon enough or the problem is with our partners, don’t hesitate to contact us.

English courses

  • I am A1 in English, is it too weak to take classes?

No, no problem, our partners organize English classes from A1 to C1. It would be better to be B1 for a work placement though.

  • When may I start the classes?

Classes are on a weekly basis, so you can start any Monday of the year. In the summer, you will pay a small supplement.

Work placement

  • I would like to do an internship in Ireland. Can you help me?

According to your level of English, qualifications and wishes, we will try to find you the company that suits you best. We have plenty of partnerships in very different fields of work so rest assured we will find you the best one!

  • I have a hard time in my Work Placement. I want to change it.

It happens sometimes and there is no problem with that. We encourage you to stay at least two weeks to see if it’s not because of the language or a new environment. Try to speak with your manager and see if he/she can do something about it.

If you’re still not well after that, send us an email and we’ll see what we can do!

Food

  • I will be in a host family, what do I eat for lunch?

There are two possibilities:

  • The first one is to pay your Host family to prepare your lunches.
  • The second one is to find something in the city.

It is only valid from Monday to Friday, on Saturday and Sunday your Host family will prepare your lunches anyway.

  • Will my work placement compensate me for my food expenses?

It may happen, but it is only your employer’s choice. It will be written on your Internship Agreement.

Transportation

  • Which bus should I take to go to the city centre?

It should be written in your welcoming pack. If you have internet, go check on the bus Eireann website or on google map.

  • I am a student; may I have reduced commute prices?

There is a student Leap card, but you will imperatively need a school stamp: you can find all the information you need on their website.

  • To go to work/classes, I will have to take the train. Will my employer pay for it?

It is their decision to make whether or not they will cover it. It will be written in your Internship Agreement.

Social life

  • What is it to do in Cork?

There are many things to visit in Cork city or around: art galleries, churches, a zoo, the Jameson’s distillery and many, many other things.

You want to do some sport in one of our gyms or go to the cinema? We have that and more. Several theatres, an opera and a dance theatre offer a wide variety of things to do too.

You can also visit our pubs with some of your friends, to watch a football game or just have a cold beer. Some of them even have live concert and traditional dances.

We can arrange cultural visits according to your wishes, so don’t hesitate to contact us.

  • Some friends want to come from abroad one week-end. Can we do that?

If you want to rent an apartment for the week-end, great! We can only encourage you to show the beautiful Ireland to your friends. Keep in mind that it is all your responsibility and at your expense.

Obviously, there is no way they stay in your Host Family. For a Shared flat, check our accommodation partners’ policies beforehand.
