About us

Virginie Robinson

Managing Director

My name is Virginie Robinson, I am a mother of 3, I was born in Bourg-en Bresse, France. I arrived in Cork, Ireland in 1986 to learn English as an au pair… I am still here.

I co-ordinate groups and individuals coming from Europe and I am the primary contact between the teachers and students during their stay.

“I truly believe that having a work experience abroad is essential for any individual to achieve an open state of mind which will empower them with personal development, independence and emotional growth.” It’s a wonderful adventure… I highly encourage it !

Iuliana Iacob (Julia)

Work Placement Co-ordinator

My name is Iuliana Iacob, I was born in Brasov, Romania. I arrived in Cork in 2014 and had several jobs in catering and NGOs.

After graduating a Level 5 QQI/FETAC course in Languages and European Studies from Cork College of Commerce and doing my work placement with Celtic Internships, I have been offered a job in the placements department in July of 2016.

I’ve learned a lot from Fiona and will forever appreciate her knowledge and skills in dealing with people. She was a true professional.

I believe that speaking another language and having international work experience can positively influence your career and I encourage anyone to do it.

Fiona and Virginie created Celtic Internships in January 2012.
Finding suitable work placements for international students and helping them along the way was Fiona’s main goal.
Her dedicated work has helped so many students grow professionally while discovering the Irish culture.
She loved coming to the office every day.
Fiona passed away on the 23rd of July 2018. Her beautiful smile and personality will never be forgotten.
